More than one-half of adulterous men describe their marriages as “happy.” Men don’t cheat because they’re having marital
problems. Supplemental sex is fun! Husbands are most likely to cheat
between the ages of forty and sixty, when they are wealthiest. That’s
why the most virtuous men are those with no opportunities.

Most adulterous women say their marriage is “unhappy,” and
three-quarters say they are looking for a long-term commitment
from their affair, which sounds to me like they are seeking to transition to a better mate

Women are the ones who sleep around
because they feel bad about themselves. Men are more likely to
sleep around when they feel great about themselves.

Men are more likely to cheat because they are
confident and horny. Women are more likely to cheat because they
don’t feel loved. Men want to be admired. Women want to be
cherished. Women have sex to be loved. Men love to have sex

Women feel more jealous over emotional attachment than
sexual infidelity. Men feel more jealous over sexual infidelity than
emotional attachment. Women worry about their mates having
illicit sex to the extent it might lead to emotional bonds. Men
worry about their mate’s forming emotional bonds with men to
the extent it might lead to illicit sex. The thought of their spouse’s
affair makes women more likely to experience humiliation and
abandonment, and men more likely to feel humiliation and rage.
